  What is Swine Flu?

 H1N1, or Swine Flu, is back. It first appeared during the 2009 flu season and quickly caused fear and confusion around the world. The virus spreads when you touch an infected surface or breathe cough and sneeze droplets in the air. If you are infected, you can be contagious for up to 10 days.

Symptoms:

1. Cough
2. Sore Throat
3. Body aches
4. Runny or stuffy nose
5. Headache.
6. Chills
7. Fatigue
8. Vomiting
9. Diarrhea. 



Causes: 

Influenza Viruses infect the cells lining your nose, throat and lungs. The virus enters your body when you inhale contaminated droplets or transfer live virus from a contaminated surface to your eyes, nose or mouth.

Risk Factors:

If you've traveled to an area where many people are affected by swine flu, as you may have been exposed to the virus, particularly if you spent time in large crowds.
Swine farmers and veterinarians have the highest risk of true swine flu because of their exposure to Pigs. 


How to Protect yourself:

  •  Covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the used tissue in the thrash.
  •  Washing your hands often with soap and water, especially you cough ore sneeze. You can also use alcohol-based hand cleaners.
  •  Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
  •  Trying to avoid close contact with sick people.
  •  Staying home from work or school if you are sick
